![]() | Statement on the Municipal Council meeting of 29 september 20252025-10-15The members of the LSAP group continue to engage for a sustainable, livable, and socially just development of our municipality. During the last municipal council meeting, the LSAP councilors commented on several points:
Purchase of land by the municipality Councilor Yves Damy suggested that land acquired by the municipality as part of the “land reserve” and not currently in use could be temporarily used for nature-oriented and biodiversity-promoting projects, such as the creation of wildflower meadows or other ecologically valuable biotopes.
Adjustment of the mapping of green spaces in residential areas Yves Damy praised the excellent work of SICONA in preparing the report on the inventory of green spaces and trees in residential areas. He emphasized that there is still great development potential, especially in the area of nature-oriented green spaces. Together with all parties involved, it should be examined how this situation can be improved. He also suggested extending the work to a tree register in order to systematically record the health status of trees in the future.
Redesign and enhancement of the monastery garden in Peppange Councilor Sandra Carelli expressly welcomed the redesign and enhancement of the monastery garden through the installation of sanitary facilities. Since the municipality is increasingly offering activities there, the previous Dixi toilets were only a provisional solution. The new facilities increase comfort for visitors and contribute to the overall enhancement of the area.
Receipt and use of donations at the “Kultur am Klouschtergaart” event Councilor Erny Fisch was pleased that the board of aldermen increased the donation amount in favor of the association “De Leederwon” after the collection at the “Kultur am Klouschtergaart” event did not bring the hoped-for result. This support is an important sign of solidarity.
Entry into 30 km/h zones and “trottoir traversant” (continuous sidewalks) Group spokesman Edy Reding asked the board of aldermen during oral questions about the regulation of entrances to 30 km/h zones and the use of so-called “trottoirs traversants” (continuous sidewalks). He suggested providing citizens with information or instruction to promote correct use and mutual understanding in road traffic.
The LSAP group will continue to actively engage for sustainable environmental measures, functional infrastructure and good coexistence in the municipality. |
