![]() | Statement on the Municipal Council meeting of 5 may and 2 juin 20252025-06-11Statement on the municipal council meeting of 5 May 2025Fraction of municipality of Roeser Annual Report of thr Climate and Nature Pact - Municipal councillor Sandra CARELLI asked various questions regarding the Nature Pact. On the one hand she wanted to know from the Nature Pact advisor, since the chances of our municipality receiving gold certification are very high, if this certification could be lost later on. Would there be regular audits of the municipality’s status even after reaching the highest certification? She also wanted to know what could be done to increase citizens involvement in the implementation of the various measures, to prevent both Climate and Nature Pact from being considered as pure prohibition or coercive measures instead of real opportunity and support for all citizen. Adoption of thr new municipal ordinance for the promotion of biodiversity - In his function as Chair of the Climate Commission, councillor Yves DAMY particulary welcomed the new bonus regulation to promote biodiversity. The college of aldermen has complited the new bonus regulation with numerous suggestions which had been previously discussed in the Climate Commission, thus underlining once more municipality’s participation. The new regulation is a significant step towards a future-oriented sustainability commitment. With its future-oriented content, it also provides incentives to protect biodiversity – a concern mostly important for future generations, as well as for preservation of our natural habitats including those of flora and fauna. Resolution – Future of the NGO „Solidarësch Hëllef Réiserbann“ and the partnership with the Kollas - Group spokesman Edy REDING thanked the board of aldermen and the officials of the secretary’s office for drafting the resolution which includes all issues raised by various parties at the last municipal council meeting. This resolution is basically the way to a new association and hopefully brings new momentum to the future of the SHR, to social coexistence and the partnership with the Kolla „Tinkunaku“ from Argentina. Verbal questions of the municipal councillors: - Councillor Erny FISCH inquired about the long-planned modernization work at Berchem railway station which should improve the userfriendlyness and its accessibility especially to disabled persons. Already in 2013, the former board of aldermen of the municipality of Roeser complained in writing to the CFL that the renovation of Berchem railway station was too much delayed. Councillor Fisch therefore asked the college of aldermen if there was still no definitive project and time frame from the CFL to prevent the progressive degradation of the present building? Statement on the municipal council meeting of 2 June 2025Fraction of the municipality of Roeser Promoting gender equality at local level - Partnership Agreement 2025 Municipal councillor Sandra CARELLI emphasizes the differences being noticed since the creation of a full-time job in the administration for gender equality issues and topics related to intercultural coexistence. Additional and diverse activities have been organized ever since. As a mother, she particulary welcomes the initiative of taking action against "bullying". Both, parents and pupils in Luxembourg, should be better informed about the consequences of bullying and learn about ways of prevention, (self)protection and care for the victims. Upgrading the centre of Peppingen — village square — project Parliamentary group spokesman Edy REDING promised the college of aldermen full support of the parliamentary group in the implementation of this project. The remodelling of the center of Peppingen will increase its value and upgrade the village square. Additional parking spaces created by the redesign of the central square will be warmely welcomed by our local restaurants. The remodeled space can also serve as festivities area or for other open air events. Councillor REDING particulary praises the principle of the "sponge city", which highly promotes greening and climate protection. The redesign of the “rue de la montagne” was planned under the same principle. Municipal councillor Yves DAMY also underlines his support for the planned redesign of the centre of Peppingen. The planned measures harmoniously fit in the overall concept for this centre, which will also serve as a meeting place for the local citizens of the village and the entire municipality. This project promotes additional greening and applying the principles of the so-called "sponge city", rainwater can be efficiently stored and significantly improve the climate during summer time. Tax regulations: Registration for municipal courses — redetermination Since the existing tax regulations had not been adapted during the last 18 years, municipal councillor Yves DAMY emphasises that despite a moderate increase in prices the municipality of Roeser maintains a fair and affordable tariff policy. The community courses offer a broad and varied program performed by professional and high-quality coaching. |
