September 25th, 2023: Statement of the communal council meeting

- Councillor and fraction spokesman Edy Reding brought to light the fact that the local council has chosen a new way of purchasing electricity with Sudenergie SA. The municipality of Roeser, like many other municipalities, are shareholders of Sudenergie SA, and purchase electricity from the Climate Pact 2.0. Sudenergie, offering local authorities and their residents the lowest electricity and gas prices on the market in Luxembourg.

- Councillor Yves Damy welcomes the proposals of the local council regarding the ambitious key performance indicators (KPI) within the framework of the Climate Pact 2.0. Some of the measures taken by the local council in the past are already bearing fruit today, particularly with regard to reducing water consumption and the measures taken in the field of renewable energy. However, there is still room for improvement in other areas, which is why it is so important to achieve the indicators to make “Réiserbann” less dependent on fossil fuels, more supportive of others and, above all, more resilient to climate crises. It is vital that the municipality continues to set an example in the fight against climate change.

- Councillor Sandra Carelli is delighted that the situation regarding the traffic lights in Peppange is changing, as many parents were concerned about this issue and consequently launched a citizens' petition. She thanked the local council for bringing this project forward. Councillor Carelli is aware that this should have been done some time ago, but that the preparatory work for such a project always takes time.

- Councillor Erny Fisch is pleased to note that the next phase of upgrading pedestrian crossings and bus stops in Roeser is now underway, ensuring the safety of all residents.
