Position Paper Regarding the Municipal Council Meeting of 24 March 2025

Sports Coordinator – Annual Report

● Municipal councillor Sandra Carelli highlighted that the creation of a position for a sports coordinator has significantly increased the number of sports courses available within the commune of Roeser. She expressed her gratitude to Mr. Jerry Bucari for his excellent work. She particularly welcomed the swift implementation of the "Impuls" project and thanked the mayoral college for the prompt execution of the first initiatives resulting from this project. Additionally, she asked the sports coordinator about the situation concerning courses for the young people of our commune, given that we offer classes for both children and adults.

The Future of the Association "Solidaresch Hëllef Réiserbann" and the Partnership with the Indigenous Kolla Communities in Northwestern Argentina

● The spokesperson for the LSAP faction, Edy Reding, immediately emphasised that the discussion on the future of SHR and the partnership with the indigenous Kolla communities is, for the LSAP, both important and sensitive. It is important to point out that the NGO "Solidaresch Hëllef Réiserbann" was created and developed at the end of the 1980s by the then mayoral college. Roeser was for a long time the only commune to have established a local NGO based on solidarity. Over more than 30 years, this enabled the realisation of various projects, particularly in Brazil, providing essential aid to the most disadvantaged, in the spirit of the late Father Johnny Geisen from Bivange. Moreover, as a founding member of "Klimabündnis Lëtzebuerg," the commune at that time also established a partnership with the indigenous Kolla people in Argentina. The LSAP believes that it is vital to preserve this unique partnership with the indigenous communities of northwestern Argentina, especially in the context of our commitments within Klimabündnis and in light of the challenges posed by climate change.

● Municipal councillor Erny Fisch welcomed the collaboration with SICONA and also expressed his support for the project. Such an agreement offers landowners the opportunity to contribute to nature conservation and to the enhancement of the landscape by making their parcels of

land available. He expressed the hope that, in the future, more landowners would be encouraged to make their land available as well
